Thode’s history

Thode is a resort village on the western shore of Blackstrap Lake, in the Rural Municipality of Dundurn No. 314, east of the town of Dundurn. It incorporated as a resort village on January 1, 1981.

Today the village is known for its lakeside setting. Residents and visitors have the lake close at hand for boating, fishing and swimming. Across the water lies Blackstrap Provincial Park, with Mount Blackstrap, camping, hiking and picnicking, and on the north-eastern shore Lakeside Golf Resort, which opened on June 1, 2021.

Thode is run by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the third Thursday of each month.
